Challenge

Sonos is an American developer and manufacturer of audio products best known for its multi-room setups. Their eCommerce team was looking to increase revenue performance on-site and potentially replace their existing personalization, which was not providing the results they were expecting.

Sonos' Director of eCommerce and eCommerce Product Manager teamed up with XGEN AI to go beyond conventional personalization and curate each site visitor's shopping experience on an individual level in real-time.

Solution

Rather than segmenting or grouping their site visitors and deploying the same recommendations for all as with conventional personalization, the Sonos eCommerce team was able to predict consumer behavior through the X2 Mind engine and then tailor the ideal path to purchase 1 to 1 in real-time.

Sonos then proceeded to run an A/B test between the incumbent solution and XGEN AI to clearly identify the difference in results.

Results

A Proof of Concept (POC) with a direct bake-off against the incumbent solution was run. During the POC, 50% of traffic (Control Group) experienced the Sonos website with personalization elements and 50% of traffic (Test Group) saw the website with the XGEN AI-powered elements.

The Smart Elements that were live during the POC were on the Product Detail Page (PDP) and Shopping Cart Page, identical to the existing solution and XGEN AI.
